This pose, called the shoulder stand, is one of the new recent poses I learned in yoga class. The area of concentration is the thyroid gland. I admit it was kind of scary to learn, but rocking back and forth first so that the legs swing over and past the head helps a lot to get into the position.
The fish pose should be done immediately after the shoulder stand to counterbalance it. The area of concentration is also the thyroid gland.
We learned the Bow pose in yoga class this week! The key here is to keep the arms straight. (Think of it as a taught string of an actual archery bow. The tightness of the string determines the shape/bend of the bow.)
Yoga is a lot tougher than I thought it would be… phew!
